Police said a 12-year-old girl fatally shot her 14-year-old cousin and then herself during an Instagram live broadcast that the girl’s mother described as a “weird accident” that occurred during a family celebration. City Police Department of St. Louis first described the deaths of 14-year-old Quaron Harvey and 12-year-old Paris Harvey as murder, TV channel KSDK reported. But family members who have seen the video say it shows otherwise. “This is not a murder. This is not a suicide,” said Paris’ mother, Shinise Harvey, 35, who has not seen the video but has heard other people explain, according to St. Louis. Louis Post Dispatch. “It was a strange accident.”
Officers responded shortly before 2 a.m. on Friday to find the two children dead, broadcaster KMOV reported. According to the KSDK: “People get together to celebrate, and younger, they have guest rooms,” said Harvey, according to the KSDK. “They made a video and (Paris) was playing with a gun, but the gun went off and hit her.”
