The accused murderer not only beheaded the tailor, but also filmed his entire act. The incident occurred at around 2.30pm on Monday when a person named Riyas arrived along with a motorbike.
In the video clip, Akhtari said they had beheaded the man, and then threatened Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the knife would hit him too.
The attackers also indirectly referred to Nupur Sharma, a BJP leader who was suspended from the party for his comments about the Prophet Muhammad. The victim managed a tailor who was called the best tailor in Danmandi district in Bootmahar, Udaipur.
The NIA team of five officers was formed to interrogate the two suspects. The team will continue to visit the crime scene today.
Rajasthan CMAshok Gehlot condemns the case
In this regard, Prime Minister Ashok Jerot said, “This is a very sad case. This is not a small case, it is inconceivable what happened. Criminals are inevitable.”
“This is a sad and shameful event. Today, the atmosphere of the country is tense. Why don’t the Prime Minister and Amit Shah talk about the country? There is tension between the people. The prime minister should speak to the general public and say that such violence does not happen. Tolerance and call for peace,” continued Ashok Jerot.
A curfew was imposed at 8pm until further orders were issued in seven areas of the Udaipur police station. Two motorbikes were shot in the Hasipor area, and a mob pelted the Danmandi mosque with stones before being released by police. Relatives said Kanhaiyaral lives in Govaldanviras area.About 10 days ago, he posted a social media post in support of former BJP spokesman Nupur Sharma.
Since then, people from certain community threatened to kill him. Kanhaiyalal informed police beforehand, no action was taken.
Kanhaiyalal was annoyed by the constant threats and he even informed the police about the same. The victim didn’t even open his shop for the past 6 days. Reports say the police are not taking any serious action regarding this and asked the tailor to stay for a few days. After the murder, the local market in the area was closed as the traffickers demanded that the suspect be arrested. Four members of the SIT police led by Ashok Rathore, additional director general of the Special Operations Group, have been asked to investigate the case. Praful Kumar, an inspector general of the counter-terrorism unit, is also a member of the team.
BJP leader Satish Kumar targeted Rajasthan’s parliamentary government and said the killing was the result of a “policy of appeasement.”
He said what was seen in the video threatened the victims on June 17. “The victim seeks safety, but it is not provided by the police,” he added, showing the state’s legislative government’s indifference. The State Agency of the People’s Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL) made a similar claim.
